Terms & Conditions

    Last updated: 6 September 2026

    1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Dubai News (“TLN”, “we”, “our”, “us”) you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. If you publish with us, our Contributor Agreement, our No Refund Policy and our Privacy Policy also apply and form part of these terms.

    2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and register with a valid email address that you control. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything done through your account. New accounts must confirm their email address before submitting an article. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred, and duplicate accounts belonging to the same person or organisation may be merged.

    3. User Content

You retain ownership of content you publish. By submitting, you grant The Dubai News a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, reformat, distribute and promote your content on our platform and associated channels, including alongside advertising. You confirm you hold all rights needed in the words, images, logos and bylines you supply.

    4. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Content that is defamatory, hateful, harassing, plagiarised, misleading, unlawful, in contempt of court, or that puts children at risk, is strictly prohibited and will be removed without notice. You must not scrape the site, resell our services, publish undisclosed paid promotion, use automation to manipulate metrics, or attempt to bypass posting limits or payment.

    5. Editorial Control

All submissions are reviewed. Our editors may edit, retitle, re-categorise, schedule, feature, unpublish, archive or refuse any article, and may use automated and AI-assisted checks for accuracy, originality and legal risk. Review and publishing times are targets, not guarantees.

    6. Plans and Payments

Free, One-Off (AED 75 per article) and Pro (AED 249 per month or AED 2,490 per year) plans are described on our pricing page. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never store your full card details. Pro subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard or the billing portal - there is no notice period, no cancellation fee and no minimum term - and cancelling stops future renewals while access continues to the end of the paid term. Prices include any applicable UAE VAT unless stated otherwise, and we may change prices with notice before your next renewal.

    7. No Refunds

All payments are non-refundable, including one-off article fees, monthly and annual subscriptions, part-used terms, and accounts blocked or closed for breach. Because our services are digital and supplied immediately, by paying you ask us to start straight away and accept the loss of the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected. Full details are in our No Refund Policy.

    8. Suspension and Blocking

We may block, suspend or close any account that breaches these terms, publishes unlawful content, fails to pay, or is used for spam, resale or impersonation. A blocked account is signed out immediately and cannot sign in or publish until the block is lifted. No refund is due where access is withdrawn for breach.

    9. Third Party Links and Advertising

Articles and pages may link to third party sites and carry advertising. We are not responsible for third party content, products or privacy practices, and inclusion of a link is not an endorsement.

    10. Intellectual Property

The Dubai News name, logo, design, code and compiled content are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied, reproduced or reused without written permission.

    11. Limitation of Liability

The Dubai News is provided “as is” and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, reader numbers, search visibility or commercial results. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, loss of profit, business or data, and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

    12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your use of the platform, and continued use after an update means you accept the change.

    13. Governing Law and Contact

These terms are governed by English law and the English courts have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@thedubai.news.
